About AoP

Who We Are
Agents of Peace is a youth-focused non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting peace, stability, and community development in conflict-affected regions of Somalia and Kenya. The organization places a strong emphasis on engaging youth in peacebuilding, good governance, and leadership. The organization conducts workshops and training sessions that focus on youth, peace and security, equipping young people with the skills to participate in conflict resolution and community development. Through lobbying and advocacy campaigns, youth are encouraged to become active in political processes, promoting transparency and accountability. Additionally, initiatives such as leadership forums and mentorship programs foster young leaders who advocate for peace and justice. By supporting young people's political participation, Agents of Peace empowers a new generation to contribute positively to Somalia's future.

Our Key Areas

1. Mediation and Dialogue: Agents of Peace conduct mediation sessions between rival clans and communities, helping to resolve disputes and build trust. Workshops and forums provide a platform for dialogue, allowing participants to share their experiences and collaborate on solutions.

2. Capacity Building: Training programs are designed to enhance the skills of local leaders, women, and youth in conflict resolution, negotiation, and leadership. These programs aim to build a network of peace ambassadors within communities.

3. Economic Empowerment: Initiatives such as microfinance programs and vocational training help individuals gain financial independence, reducing economic drivers of conflict. The organization supports small businesses and cooperatives that contribute to community stability.

4. Youth Programs: Engaging youth through sports, arts, and educational activities promotes unity and prevents recruitment into extremist groups. Leadership training and mentorship programs empower young people to become agents of change.

5. Advocacy Campaigns: Public awareness campaigns, including community forums, radio broadcasts, and social media outreach, emphasize the importance of peace and reconciliation. The organization partners with local and international stakeholders to amplify its message.
